Carol earned her certificate in College Counseling with Distinction from the University of California-Los Angeles and holds a BBA in Marketing with Honors from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
Prior to becoming a full-time independent college consultant, she worked for seven years as a high school college and career guidance specialist supporting students with career exploration, academic planning, college list development, college applications, college essays, financial aid, and scholarships. During this time, she navigated the rhythm and demands of the high school counseling office and a wide variety of student post-high school interests.
On the admissions side, Carol met with hundreds of college admission counselors annually and served on College Admissions Advisory Boards at the University of Washington Seattle and Washington State University. She ran dozens of college application workshops and presented regularly on topics ranging from holistic admissions to SAT/ACT planning to moving toward a final college decision.
In addition to roles in education, Carol spent the early part of her career in corporate marketing and operations management roles, leading teams and supporting multiple bridge-to-career programs including internships, college campus recruiting, and Junior Achievement. She is always looking for ways to connect students to the world of work through awareness, education, and preparation. She was a 2018 participant in the Washington Alliance for Better Schools (WABS) STEM externship and holds a Career Pathways Leadership (CPL) certificate. She is certified in the Strong Interest Inventory® assessment and is passionate about helping students explore, prepare, and shine as they take their first awesome steps toward college and career.
